London Underground S Stock
The S Stock was a once in a lifetime chance to replace all the sub surface stock with one style of train. There are two types the S7 for the Circle, District and Hammersmith & City lines, and the S8 for the Metropolitan line.
The S Stock was the largest UK train order with 191 trains, 1,395 cars of a standardised design, all built by Bombardier in Derby between 2008 and 2017 and replaced the A60/62, C69/77 and D78 stock.
They introduced air conditioning and full length gangways to the London Underground.
