South West Trains
This artwork represents the fleet line up in August 2017 at the end of Stagecoach franchise.
Stagecoach ran the very first privatised rail service, the 0510 Twickenham to Waterloo service on Sunday 4th February 1996 and ran the franchise until August 2017. Covering Metro, Suburban and Inter City services out from London Waterloo to the South Western region and other connecting services across its network.
The trains shown on this artwork include:
Class 483 ex-38 stock on the Island line since 1989.
Class 455/7 Built in York and been serving the network since 1984.
Class 456 Built in York in 1990, first used by Southern and then transferred to SWT in 2014.
Class 159 Built by BREL in Derby and introduced to the West of England line in 1992.
Class 458 Built by Alstom in Birmingham originally as 4 car units they were rebuilt using sister Class 460 coaches into 5 car units.
Class 444 Built by Siemens in Austria and introduced in 2004.
Sister to the 444 is the Class 450, built by Siemens in Germany and introduced in 2003.
Class 707, again built by Siemens and introduced in 2017 at the very end of the SWT franchise.
